Soundtrack to a Cold, Rainy Study Day

Surprise-- I'm sitting at my desk, drinking my coffee too quickly, and trying to learn me some histology. Here's my perfect study soundtrack to this moody weather morning:

Frames: For the Birds
Frames: Burn the Maps
Damien Rice: O
Sigur Ros: ( )
Nick Cave: And No More Shall We Part

If you're looking for some good stuff, that'd be it right there.

I've got to add "Clap your hands say yeah" to the study top 40. And, if you guys can get your hands on "Gigi" album title Zion Roots, an Ethiopian singer with maybe the best voice I've ever heard, this weekend just might turn out to be a whole lot of not bad. She's on iTunes.

Hey Pewbs,

Can you imagine Sigur Ros live? I saw them at the Depot in April. (Or was it May?) Yet another reason for you to be jealous of me...

I suggest you listen to ( ) sometime as well. I can lend it to you. ( ) is famous for being sung in voulenska, which is a nonsense language that resembles the sound of Icelandic. The idea, according to the rumor, was to allow the listener to interpret the album in full for themselves. Personally, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between voulenska and true Icelandic, but I think the idea is sure neato. :O)
