New Ear Candy

Two excellent albums. I am new to both of these bands.

AFI's "Love like Winter" is amazing. too bad its only 2:45 long. Saw a live performance of "Miss Murder" though...awful. I think someone uses Auto-Tune. Hmmmmm....Mr Havok?

The rock opera, Pink Floyd-esque flow of MCR's Black Parade is captivating. I think Roger Waters would be proud. It is a lot more mature than their last album...that I didnt' really care for. The video to Helena was awesome though.

I agree w/ that Decemberunderground is a great album as is the aforementioned song. I happen to be a big AFI fan and felt the need to come to Davey Havoc's defense.

I agree that the live performances have been pretty crappy lately. I saw AFI when they came to SLC this summer. There were songs when he was right on key and others where he was way off. But, I'm not sure if you knew that he has had recent surgery on his vocal cords, hence the questionable tune.

The promoter of the AFI show is a guy named Jason Farrell and he and my older brother are long-time friends. According to Jason, who happens to be good friends w/ the guys from AFI, Davey said that he "tore the shit" out of his vocal cords about a year ago and his voice has never been the same. I've actually heard rumors from various sources that this will be their last album...let's hope not.

I didn't know that. Taking that into account...I suppose I could temper my critique.

I did find out that Brandon Flowers of the Killers used Auto Tune on Hot Fuss.
